Describing a Digital Portfolio

A website on which an individual or group of users record opinions, information etc. on a regular basis. Blogging is a way to record your ideas and thoughts during the learning process.  A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links.

Wiki

A web site developed collaboratively by a community of users, allowing any user to add and edit content. Wikis can be community websites for example. Ward Cunningham, is the developer of the first wiki software, WikiWikiWeb.


What is the difference between them?

A wiki is a type of website that allows multiple users to collaboratively create and edit pages.
But a blog is an online journal that allows the owner to post entries and also it allow readers to comment on these posts.

What is an online Digital Portfolio?

A digital portfolio, is a collection of electronic evidence assembled and managed by a user, usually on the Web. Such electronic evidence may include inputted text, electronic files, images, multimedia, blog entries, and hyperlinks.

Advantages of a Digital Portfolio?

They are easily updated. They help students reflect on their work. 

Disadvantages of a Digital Portfolio?

For instance, if your version of Microsoft Word saves files as .docx files, the person you send them to may not be able to open the file.
