Peer Review

I marked Uday's blog. It was pretty impressive. Everything that was required on the sheet, Uday had included in his Process Journal. It was an easy 6 for almost all the requirements.
All his information was fully detailed and easy to understand.
Maybe his grammar can be improved in the posts.

He could fulfill some of the requirements such as:

  • Putting a picture
  • Correct grammar in ' All about Me '

Overall, it was a very well done blog.

Investigating software options for creating a Digital Portfolio

Dreamweaver

Dreamweaver is a web design software/web development software.

Pro:

Dreamweaver is available for Mac and Windows.

Dreamweaver helps you quickly scan your code as well as spot any errors. Also, some other stuff with the code.

You can create a template with different functions.

Con:

You have to understand what to do with the codes and you have to the functions.

HTML

HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language.

It is the main markup language for displaying web pages and other information.

HTML is written in the form of something called HTML elements which consist of tags together within angle brackets (like <html>).

Pro:

HTML gives you the ability to put graphic ads through your newsletter.

Con:

HTML is a very weak formatting tool that lacks even the most basic page-oriented formatting capabilities

Frontpage

FrontPage is a discontinued  HTML editor and Website administration tool from Microsoft.

Pro:

Very low at cost.

Easy to edit some features.

Con:

Doesn't produce codes as neatly as Dreamweaver.

Current edition is only available for Microsoft.

Which one?

In my opinion I think Dreamweaver is the best one because it is neat for the codes and it is more simple to use.

Describing a Digital Portfolio

Blog

A website on which an individual or group of users record opinions, information etc. on a regular basis. A wiki is a type of website that allows multiple users to collaboratively create and edit pages.
But a blog is an online journal that allows the owner to post entries and also it allow readers to comment on these posts.

What is an online Digital Portfolio?

A digital portfolio, is a collection of electronic evidence assembled and managed by a user, usually on the Web. Such electronic evidence may include inputted text, electronic files, images, multimedia, blog entries, and hyperlinks.

Communication is very important especially during emergencies. Different types of communications have been used in emergencies such as recent natural disasters. During these emergencies, people communicated with each other through the internet, online communication such as Skype and Facebook, telephones and the media. • ·         The immediate impact on health services
When you communicate online, you use different types of hardwares and softwares. Here are some examples:
Hardware:

  • ·         Monitor
  • ·         Mouse
  • ·         Keyboard

Software:

Communication And The Internet

Communication is one of the most popular uses of the internet. We have different websites/ ways of communicating like:

  • ·         Facebook
  • ·         Twitter
  • ·         Hotmail
  • ·         Gmail
  • ·         Messenger
  • ·         Newspaper
  • ·         iMessage
  • ·         BBM (Black Berry Messenger)
  • ·         Skype
  • ·         Television

Synchronous communication is direct communication where the communicators are time synchronized.
What does synchronized/synchronous/asynchronous mean?

  • Ø  Synchronous: Occurring at the same time
  • Ø  Synchronized: To occur at the same time or coincide or agree in time.
  • Ø  Asynchronous: Not occurring at the same time.

Chats like on Facebook can be an example of synchronous communication because both people are there at the same time and are talking.

Different communications need hardware and software.
For example:

  • Ø  BBM for blackberries need the hardware of a phone and the software of the BBM
  • Ø  Facebook Chats need the hardware of a computer, laptop or iPod and software of the internet or Facebook application.
